*Here's a post a made over at girl wonder.org about minority characters in american comics, much thanks to the zine and to the editor Jenn for making all make sense.* A Gambit for Minority Characters Wasart As a second generation nerd, I had comics and sci-fi and various other forms of geekdom thrust upon me. I just signed up with the Seniormentors group in the hopes of improving. While thinking of that I had a great idea... Deviantart should have an advanced critique option, where deviants open to advanced critiques  could allow other more experienced artists to go John Madden on the deviation and specifically point out what should be changed by drawing over  the deviation (you know, circling proportion problems, arrows and the like.) The critique could be private and sent through private message or public.

Training

Well after working several long weeks on my comics I came to the saddest realization that any artist could come to....I was not ready to do it.My skill level and more importantly my work ethic were not up to snuff. Perspective and inking being my biggest Achilles heels So I recently I started sketchy like crazy day in and day out. Sadly that leaves very little room for finished pieces as a improve. But for any one watching it'll be interesting to track my progress.
